General Questions
Peace, Love & Bears is a travel club designed to bring together gay, bi, queer, pan, and trans men who identify as bears, otters, or their admirers—and want to travel with likeminded people.
We focus on creating meaningful connections, celebrating body positivity, and co-creating unforgettable adventures.

If you are open-minded, open-hearted, body-positive, and looking for authentic travel experiences without superficial judgment, this is the place for you. We welcome men of all body shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.
There's no special membership or dues/fees/costs. You just pay for the travel itself.
Absolutely! For the Cruise you'll need to fly into Miami, Florida, but we can help you sort out what visas you may need. For the Safari you can fly to Nairobi, Kenya. Outward Travel can book flights for you so we'll help you get it all sorted out.
Please note that we bill in US Dollars, so your total amount will be dependent on exchange rates and any fees your bank may charge for international transactions. We don't charge anything extra for international payments.

We can try! We'll want to get to know you a little and may have you fill out a little questionnaire. Then when others make the same request we'll see if we think you're a good fit and introduce you to each other. If you vibe, we can book you together! All rooms on all trips have twin-bed configurations as an option, so sharing beds is not needed (unless you want to).
Rooming with people you don't know can be fun, or it can be a challenge. We encourage you to cajole your friends to join us, but if none of them want to come we'll help you out the best we can!

Absolutely! The whole point of Peace Love & Bears is (1) to connect with each other regardless of our bodies or sexual activity and (2) celebrate those bodies to whatever degree you are comfortable with. There is no requirement to participate in anything! And what you do choose to join will only be to your level of comfort.
Then don't be. First off, you'll be with people who want to know you for you. If you don't want to remove clothing, then don't feel pressured to. Also know that travel is a unique opportunity to try new things, and in our group you'll be accepted and loved no matter what shape your body takes, so if you need encouragement to try going shirtless at the pool or with the group, we'll be there for you.
So is our group leader. We know sometimes you need a little quiet time, a little space, and would rather read a book in your balcony hammock than party the day away at the pool. No worries!

No, not at all. These are group trips to connect with each other. We don't have counseling sessions, no therapists, no coaches, or any of that sort of thing. Instead we want to connect, share our stories, love each other, and build something different, together.

Questions About The Cruise
Our inaugural cruise is scheduled for April 17-24, 2027, sailing out of Miami on Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady.
Your price includes all food at 20+ eateries, Starlink WiFi, soft drinks/water/drip coffee, group fitness classes, and entertainment, plus special group perks like a $100 bar tab and access to exclusive club events.
Virgin Voyages no longer includes gratuities in their price. But if you prepay them, they are $20 per person per day. And that includes everything and everyone onboard - no need to tip anything extra at dinner, drinks, pool, or spa.
The deposit to reserve your spot is 20% of your cruise fare, depending on what cabin you choose. All cruise payments are due by December 15, 2026. You can still sign up after that date, but you'll need to pay the complete amount right away.
No, we have plenty of space as long as the ship doesn't fill up.
Questions About The Safari
We're working with our in-country partners to finalize the dates & itinerary. We are planning to go in October 2027.
Yes, Kenya is safe for gay tourists. While the laws in Kenya are not progressive or accepting, in practice the people are warm, welcoming, and kind. Our group leader went earlier this year with a big ol' rainbow tattoo on his leg and had no problems whatsoever. The staff of our in-country partner doesn't care, they just want to show you their beautiful country. And the hotels we're working with will be equally welcoming.
Yes, for this club trip we can only accommodate 18 people including the host.
Primarily in the rooms, but if you wanna go shirtless in the safari vehicle nothing says you can't. And most of our hotels will have stunningly gorgeous pools.
